Lock Down Activities

• AICTE Sponsored Six Days Online STTP on Artificial Intelligence and Applications was conducted in three terms, Term 1 ( 26th July to 31st July 2021), Term 2 (9th August to 14th August 2021), Term 3 (23rd to 28th August 2021). Experts from various premiere institutes and professionals from industry conducted the sessions.
• CAREERXCELL Placement Club & Marian Association of Computer Science Department (MACS) of Marian Engineering College conducted a webinar - " CAMPUS TO CORPORATE", an Interaction with Ms. Hafira M.V.C, Q.A. LEAD, COGNIZANT, NEW YORK on 9th July 2021.

• A two-day National Conference on Emerging Technologies in Smart Systems (NCETSS-2021) was held at department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Marian Association of Computer Science (MACS) on 6^th and 7^th July 2021.

• The Computer Society of India, Student Branch of Marian Engineering college had organised an Essay writing competition on 12^th June, Name of the event was – ‘PEN IT DOWN 2021’
• The IEEE, Student Branch of Marian Engineering College in collaboration with ENTRI (India’s leading All-in-one app to Learn and Prepare for Govt Exams and Spoken English classes) conducted a webinar session through YouTube on 26/07/2021 at 7:30 PM.
• The webinar on “Web Application Penetration Testing” was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Marian Engineering College in Association with CDAC on 08-06-2021 at 4.00 pm.The resource person for this webinar was Mr. Hiron Bose, Scientist Engineer at CDAC.
• Marian Association of Computer Science conducted a Quiz competition – ‘TECHNOPHILE’ on 07^th June 2021 at 06:00 PM through the Quizizz platform.
• The Marian Association of Computer Science organised a webinar “CS Graduate = IT Professional” on 04^th June 2021. The Resource person was Mr. Sthanu Ramakrishnan Thambi, Project Delivery Manager, UST. inside Trivandrum Campus.
• The webinar on “DESIGN IN EVERYTHING” was organized by INSPIRA - Marian IEDC in association with Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 06 June 2021. The webinar was handled by Mr. Kiran Padmanabhan, Lead UI designer at Qburst.

• The IEEE, Student Branch of Marian Engineering College conducted a series of quizzes via the social media platform, Instagram. The aim of the event was to make viewers aware of important global events by means of quizzes. Two such quizzes were conducted to commemorate to occasions.

• The IEEE, Student Branch of Marian Engineering College conducted ‘DROP A LINE -   A Technical writing competition’. The topic for the competition was SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY. The competition was conducted 11^th JUNE 2021- 13^th JUNE 2021.
• The workshop on Introduction to Version Control was conducted by the FOSS Cell of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Marian Engineering College in association with ICFOSS on the 10th of June 2021
• The IEEE, Student Branch of Marian Engineering College conducted ‘Esthetico’ – A poster design competition in association with the EARTH DAY. The theme for the competition was Ecosystem Restoration. The competition was conducted from the 1^st June to 5^th June, 2021.
• The IEEE, Student Branch of Marian Engineering College conducted – ‘START ACTION CUT’, a promo making competition. The topic for the event was OXIMETER. The competition was conducted on 30^th May 2021.
• The IEEE, Student Branch of Marian Engineering College, organized a quiz competition on 29/05/2021 in association with the EARTH DAY.
• The Computer Society of India, Student Branch of Marian Engineering college had organised a webinar on 27^th May 2021 for the members of CSI. Non-CSI members also participated.
• The IEEE, Student Branch of Marian Engineering College, organized a webinar on 25-05-2021. The webinar session was handled by Althaf Muhammad, systems engineer at Infosys on the topic – “Insights on Approaching Placements”.
• The IEEE Student Branches of two other Colleges along with our College (IEEE WIE SB GECT, IEEE WIE SB CECTL and IEEE SB MCE) collaborated to conduct ‘INK IT’- An article writing competition in association with the WIE week, WiEvacity on May 7^th,2021. The theme for the contest was ‘Influence of Women in IoT’.
• The IEEE Student Branches of two other Colleges along with our College (IEEE WIE SB GECT, IEEE WIE SB CECTL and IEEE SB MCE) collaborated to conduct Meme-O-Mania- A meme making competition in association with the WIE week, WiEvacity on May 7^th,2021. The theme for the contest “Perception of an engineer”.
• The IEEE Student Branches of two other Colleges along with our College (IEEE WIE SB GECT, IEEE WIE SB CECTL and IEEE SB MCE) collaborated to conduct DOODS - A doodling competition in association with the WIE week, WiEvacity on May 7^th,2021. The theme for the contest was “Mental Trauma”.
• he IEEE Student Branches of two other Colleges along with our College (IEEE WIE SB GECT, IEEE WIE SB CECTL and IEEE SB MCE) collaborated to conduct SNAPSHOT- A video compilation competition in association with the WIE week, WiEvacity on May 7^th,2021.
• The IEEE PES SBC of MARIAN ENGINEERING COLLEGE in association with IEEE Kerala Young Professionals jointly organized an online webinar named YP TALKS on the topic ‘WEB DEVELOPMENT’. The speaker was Er. NEERAJ V. IPE, who is the Vice Chair, IEEE Kerala Young Professional. He is also working as Associate Software Developer at UST Global. The webinar was on 1st May 2021.
• The IEEE, Student Branch of Marian Engineering College, organized a webinar on 24-04-2021. The webinar session was handled by Jacob Thomas Puthukeril, Engineer (Robotics & FA) in Hikvision on the topic Automated Guided Robots.
• The IEEE PES SBC of Marian Engineering College organized an Online Energy Hackathon D-Relay 3.0 as part of 4th IEEE PES DAY 2021. The event registration was done via online registration portal through registration link which was released on 10th April 2021.
• The workshop on “ABC of AI” in association with ICFOSS was organized by the FOSS Cell of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Marian Engineering College on 25th and 26th of March 2021.
• The department of computer science in Marian Engineering college organised a webinar "GATE AWARENESS PROGRAM" ON 19/02/2021. The keynote speaker was S.Manimohan Trinath, GATE/ESE trainer, Ace Engineering Academy, Hyderabad, Telangana.
• The Computer Society of India, Student Branch of Marian Engineering college has organised a webinar on 22^nd January 2021 for the members of CSI. Non-CSI members also participated. Resource person was Mr. Balan C (Associate Director – CDAC). 
• The Marian Association of Computer Science organised an online photography contest – ‘FRAME’, exclusively for the Computer Science Department. The theme was – CHRISTMAS.
• The department magazine – ‘REFLECT TONES’ was launched on 07-12-2020.
• The Marian Association of Computer Science organised a webinar "Are you ready for the industry?" on 07/11/2020 (10:30 AM – 12:30 PM). Mr.Ajin Thomas, Associate Director, Polus Software Pvt. Ltd.
• The Marian Association of Computer Science organized an event named CIPHER (Error Detection and Error Correction using C language) on 31.10.2020.
• The Marian Association Of Computer Science with CGP Career Avenues organized a Webinar on Job & Higher Studies options after B.Tech on 10/10/2020 . The keynote speaker was Mr. Rajesh Sasidhar .
• The Computer Society of India, Student Branch of Marian Engineering college had organised a National Webinar on 21^st Sep 2020 for the members of CSI. Non-CSI members also participated. Resource person was Mr. Srinivas Chakravarthy, (Director –India, EC Council).
• The Computer Society of India, Student Branch of Marian Engineering college has organised a webinar on 11^th September 2020 for the members of CSI. Non-CSI members also participated. Resource person was Mr. Balamurali Lakshmanan (Director - Quality & Testing Group at SFO Technologies (P) Ltd.-NeST Group).
