Electrical & Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in 2013 with the primary goal of delivering quality education and hands-on training in various domains of Electrical and Electronics. The department is dedicated to nurturing students into skilled and competent professionals who can excel in industry, research, and innovation.

Academics

Innovations in Teaching and Learning

The department is committed to implementing innovative tools and practices in the teaching-learning process to ensure a high-quality academic experience. The following practices are actively pursued:

  • PowerPoint Presentations: Faculty uses Power Point presentations enhanced with videos and pictorial representations to improve conceptual understanding. All classrooms are equipped to support multimedia-based teaching.
  • Industrial and Substation Visits: Industrial visits relevant to core courses are organized every academic year. Students submit brief reports post-visit, helping them gain practical exposure beyond classroom learning.
  • Technical Exhibitions: Conducted during the department’s Association Inaugural Day, these exhibitions encourage students to develop and display prototypes of their projects.
  • Clubs and Association Activities: Activities include technical quizzes, paper presentations, and student talks. Clubs such as the IEEE PES Student Chapter and the Mechatronics Club enhance students' organizational and technical skills while introducing them to research tools and technologies.
  • Online Courses: Students are encouraged to enroll in online courses, particularly through platforms like NPTEL, SWAYAM. Faculty share details about course availability and enrollment dates.
  • Group Study: Students are motivated to engage in group study, fostering peer learning. Groups are formed and structured to promote collaborative academic support.
  • Student Presentations: Students are encouraged to deliver presentations on assigned topics. These topics are shared in advance to allow thorough preparation.
  • Mentoring: Staff advisors maintain regular communication with students to address both academic and personal challenges. They also assist students in tracking and improving their academic performance.

Facilities

The department is well-equipped with essential infrastructure and resources to support academic activities. The following laboratories are available as per the curriculum:

  • Electrical Machines Lab
  • Power Electronics Lab
