2019-2020

Cultural/Sports

  • Karthika Sankar K L of VII semester secured I prize in Light music in cultural fest SAPTHA, GEC Palakkad

                                      

  • Gopika A.M of VII semester secured gold in junior section and bronze for senior section in District Classic Power Lifting Championship held on 18th August 2019, bronze in junior section in State Classic Power Lifting Championship held on 15th September 2019.
  • Gopika A.M of VII semester secured II place in Shotput in the College Girls category of Reliance Foundation School Athletics 2019-20 held on 10th October 2019.
  • Gopika A.M of VII semester secured gold for Inter College Power Lifting Championship and got selection in All India Inter University Power lifting on 28th December 2019.
  • Gopika A.M of VIII semester secured II place in Women Discuss Throw in the KTU Intercollegiate Athletics Championship held on 7th February 2020.

  • Jayakrishna Jayapal of VI semester won the title ‘Mr. Hestia 2020’ in persona competition organized by TKM College of Engineering on 5th - 8th March 2020.
  • Harunson Newton J of V semester secured I prize in Art Marathon in ‘tathva’19’ organized by NIT Calicut on 18th -20th October 2019.
  • Kirtana S Nair and Anu Alex of VI semester secured II prize in Fashion show organised by Musaliar College of Engineering on 6th March 2019.

            

  • Rohan Reghuraj of II semester became second runner up in the Inter College 7-A-Side Football Tournament organized by Providence College of Engineering, Chengannur on 27 -31 January 2020.

Technical

  • A funding of Rs.10,000/- was procured from Kerala State Council for Science Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) by Harikrishnan V R, Joby Shyam, Jwala Raj & Vaishnavi Chandran ofVII semester (2016-20' Batch) for their student project “Natural Coagulant for water treatment” on 11th November 2019.
  • A funding of Rs.9,900/- was procured from Kerala State Council for Science Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) by Ashiq Rashid Najar, Hepsy Hamlet, Reshmi B. S, Shilpa Cecil & Praveen Peter Gomez  ofVII semester (2016-20' Batch) for their student project “Auto farm water regulator” on 7th January 2020. These students also received for this project, a fund of Rs. 34000/- from Centre for Engineering Research & Development (CERD), APJ Abdul Kalam University on 1st February 2020.
  • U. Dhanusree & Lekshmi V R of VII semester presented their paper on "Desalination of Sea Water" at CERD, CET on 10th January 2020.
  • A funding of Rs.27,500/- was procured from Centre for Engineering Research & Development (CERD) by R.U. Dhanusree, Lekshmi V R, Nabeel N S, Nice M Basheer and Karthik G ofVII semester (2016-20' Batch) for their student project “Desalination of Sea Water” on 1st February 2020.
  • R.U. Dhanusree (2016-20' Batch) of VII semester was awarded I prize under RIDe category under the Theme “Drinking water & sanitation” for her team project "Desalination of Sea Water" by Rural Innovators Start-up Conclave (RISC) conducted by NIRD, Hyderabad on 28th September 2019. The other members of the team are Lekshmi V R, Nabeel N S, Nice M Basheer and Karthik G of VII semester.

  • In the online National Conference on Recent Trends in Engineering and Technology organized by Malabar Institute of Technology on 20th and 21st June 2020, Reshma S, Shilpa B, Sruthy C Babu and Vidhya Varkey of VIII semester (2016-20' Batch)jointly received I prize for their paper on “A Review on Soil Mapping on Kalpetta Region Using GIS”, while Revathy Krishna A.S, Linette S Haritha, Megha Unni and Maxmeen Micheal of the same semester became runners up for their paper on “Effect of Chitosan on Numerical Crack Study on Wayanad Soil”.
  • Diya B. of IV Semester M.Tech Geotechnical Engineering became runner up in Online National Conference on Recent Trends in Engineering and Technology conducted by Malabar Institute of Technology on 20th and 21st June 2020, for her paper on “Stabilization of Soil Using Terassil Nano Chemicals”.
  • Jishnu P.S. and Aarya K. R. of III semester M.Tech Geotechnical Engineering shared first prize in Civil Engineering Quiz conducted by LBSITW on 26th October 2019.

  • Swathi J (2017-19' Batch)secured IGS-AISAT AWARD for the Best M.Tech Geotechnical Engineering Thesis submitted in 2019 in Kerala State. The award was presented in the function held on 10th July 2019 at AISAT, jointly organized by Indian Geotechnical Society, Kochi Chapter and Albertian Institute of Science and Technology.

  • A funding of Rs.10,000/- was procured from Malayala Manorama and Amal Jyothi College of Engineering by Sreehari G.M, Milan Dileepkumar, Rahul Ajith and Sanjay J Kumar of VI semester for their student project ‘An Idea of Pocket sized Total Station ‘on 21st October 2019.
  • The project titled ‘An Idea of Pocket Sized Total Station’ developed by Sreehari G.M, Milan Dileepkumar, Rahul Ajith and Sanjay J Kumar of VI semester was selected to ‘Malayala Manorama Yuva Mastermind Expo 2020’ held at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium on 17th - 18th January 2020.

  • Maria Mita Joseph, Abhirami S Krishna and Sreelekshmi R  of II semester secured 98% in DCSMAT Quizzing Festival-Quiz I organized by the MBA Department, DC School of Mangement and Technology, Trivandrum on 1st June 2020.
  • Kessia Justin Dcruz and Swathy Sunilkumar of II semester secured 95% in Technical quiz on Concrete Technology organized by St. Joseph Institute of Technology, Chennai on 12th June 2020.

  • Angel Mary Jacob VI semester has secured II position in the event Seventh Avenue held as a part of National Level Inter Collegiate Fest Yagna Dhruva’19 of LBS Institute of Technology for Women, Poojappura, on 8-10th March 2019.
  • Angel Mary Jacob VI semester secured I prize in Burn the Ramp, an event of Swastika’19, The National Level Techno-Cultural Fest of MBCCET, Peerumade on 4th April 2019.
  • Angel Mary Jacob of VI semester has secured I prize in Mystique conducted as a part of Aagneya’19, Techno-Cultural Festival of Government Engineering College, Barton Hill from 5-7th April 2019.

  • Dance team ‘IIT Kazhakuttom’ of VIII semester secured I prize in ‘Epoch’ organized by ACE College, Trivandrum on 22nd February 2019 and ‘Aagneya’ organised by GEC Barton Hill, Trivandrum on 5th April 2019.
  • Dance team ‘IIT Kazhakuttom’ of VIII semester secured II prize in ‘YASYA 2019’ organized by St. Thomas Instiute of Science and Technology, Trivandrum on 29th March 2019 , ‘Crossroads’ organised by Mar Baselios College of Engineering, Trivandrum on 27th April 2019  and ‘Impulse’ organized by Muslim Association College of Engineering on 30th April 2019.

Technical

  • Design projects of V semester students, Lekshmi M.S. & group (Lekshmi M.S, Sayana S, Pooja A.S and Rakhi Krishna B.R) and Revees Paul & group (Revees Paul Sixtus, Nice M Basheer, Praveen Peter Gomez) were selected for presentation in State Level Technical Project Exhibition ‘Chrysalis 2018’ organized by Model Public School, Pallipuram on 30th November 2018.

  • The paper entitled “Hydraulic Wheelbarrow” authored by Lekshmi M.S, Sayana S, Rakhi Krishna, and Pooja A.S of VI semester secured consolation prize in COGNIZ 2019, Technocultural fest conducted by Bishop Jerome Institute, Kollam on 18th February, 2019.
  • U Dhanusree, Lekshmi V.R., Meghna S.M, Nice M. Basheer, Nabeel N.S of VI semester secured the third prize for their Innovative project on “Desalination of sea water” in the National Hackathon ‘EDEN 2019’ organized by IEDC, MEC & Kerala Startup mission held from 28th to 31st March 2019.

  • A funding of 5000/- was procured from Kerala State Council for Science Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) by Ajmi Sulaiman, Amrutha B. Nair, Bharatha S.Vipin and Fathima Sulfikar of VI semester (2016-’17 Batch) for their  student project “Water Pillow” on 22th January 2019.
  • Aiswarya, Geethika Moorthy and Geethu Raj of VI semester secured mentorship support from Govt. of Kerala through IDEA Fest 2019 on their project “Ghee Making Machine” on 14th May 2019.
  • Feroz T.R& Eva Jane of VI semester secured II prize for paper presentation IDEATE 2019 organised by Rajadhani Institute of Science & Technology on 1st March 2019.
  • Gopika A.S of IV semester M.Tech Geotechnical Engineering secured I prize for her technical paper titled “Suitability of Sodium Caseinate treated Soil for Pavement Construction” in National Conference on Scholastics of Industry and Innovation (NCSII) organised by St.Thomas Institute for Science & Technology during 15th -16th March 2019.
  • Jishnu P.S. and Aarya K. R. of II semester M.Tech Geotechnical Engineering shared the prestigious Visvesvaraya Ever Rolling Trophy in ‘ascendio2k19’ Intercollegiate Quiz Competition organized by IGS CET Student Chapter on 23rd February 2019.

  • Anciya Fazal R of IV semester Geotechnical Engineering secured best paper award for her research paper titled “Influence of Prestress and Encapsulation on Reinforced Soft Soil Foundation for Embankments” in the 4th KERALA TECHNOLOGICAL CONGRESS- KETCON OF KTU TECHFEST 2019, jointly organised by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University in association with Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) held at GEC Thrissur on 15thFebruary 2019.

  • Nayana B, Namitha B, Meghna Gopal and Parvathy S Nair of V semester jointly received a fund of Rs.10, 000/- for their paper on “Bamboo Coir Partition Wall” from Kerala State Council for Science Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) on 15th November 2017.
