Inauguration of MAGMA (Marian Association of Growing Mechanical Engineers) for the academic year 2021-2022,

REPORT ON PRESENTATION/DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM ON

“A HOLISTIC VIEW OF TRAINING IN ENGINEERING EDUCATION AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY”

 

In connection with the inauguration of MAGMA (Marian Association of Growing Mechanical Engineers) for the academic year 2021-2022, a presentation/demonstration program on “A holistic view of training in engineering education and career opportunities in media and entertainment industry” by Prof. Dr. Sasikumaran .S (Director, MAAC Trivandrum) was conducted on 17-12-2021 from 10.30 am -12.30 pm at Seminar hall, Department of Mechanical engineering.

The program was co-ordinated by Prof.Rahul R.S (Asst.Professor, Dept. of ME) and Prof. Joseph K.M (Associate Professor, Dept. of ME).

The program was officially inaugurated by Prof. Arun J (HOD, Department of ME) followed by the welcome speech. The Introduction speech about MAGMA was delivered by Mr.Nithin Joe Walter (President, MAGMA).

Introduction to MAGMA by Mr.Nithin (President, MAGMA)

A session on “Introduction to Animation/VFX” was given by Prof. Dr. Sasikumaran .S (Director, MAAC Trivandrum) for the students and faculty members of Department of Mechanical Engineering. Media and Entertainment (M &E) industry is the fast growing job opportunity sector that includes Animation, VFX, Gaming Design, Digital media & Augmented and Virtual Reality.

A Demonstration on M&E Technologies was given by Mr. Amrith Raj (Academic Head, MAAC Trivandrum), which was followed by a session on “Introduction to AR/VR/MR/Gaming” by Prof. Dr. Sasikumaran .S (Director, MAAC Trivandrum). Also, a demonstration of the same was conducted by Mr.Rahul S (Faculty, MAAC Trivandrum).

A Question/Answer session was also arranged towards the end of the program for the students and staff members of Mechanical Engineering Department. The program was winded up at 12.30 pm with a Vote of thanks by Mr.Krishnanunni Maaraar (Student, S5 M1).
